[VERIFIED] Update at 5:55PM: Shelter in place LIFTED -- forward progress has been stopped. LAFD companies are expected to remain on scene for several hours completing full mop up and containment of approximately TWO total acres.
[VERIFIED] LAFD holding brush fire at 2-acres, "dirty burn". Trying to get crews in and secure a containment line.
[VERIFIED] Update at 5:00PM: Burned area now estimated at 1.5 acres total. LAFD air and ground crews continue to coordinate water drops, with LA Park Rangers and LACoFD crews assisting. LAFD PIO Cody Weireter en route to scene.
[VERIFIED] Shelter in place order issued due to brush fire near Montecito Heights. If you are within the affected area (Genasys zone LFD-0953), close windows/doors, bring pets inside, and report any adverse symptoms to 9-1-1. For updates, visit lafd.
[VERIFIED] LAFD fire companies including Air Operations, Heavy Equipment, and Crew 4 are coordinating to surround and extinguish approximately 1/2 acre of heavy brush with fire moving uphill under mild wind conditions. No injuries or involved structures reported.
