[VERIFIED] All forward progress on this fire has been stopped -- estimated at three total acres. Firefighters on the ground initiated a progressive hose lay near Airpark Way, extinguishing flames which were climbing upslope. Structure protection companies controlled flames at the top of the slope, preventing the fire from impinging on homes. Fire in the northwest of the affected area moved into heavier brush and steeper terrain, which fire companies will now spend time managing and cooling -- a drone team has been requested for aerial reconnaissance as companies remain on scene to mop up hotspots and fully contain the burn area.

[VERIFIED] Whiteman Air Park and properties along Chanute St and Empire Dr. Topography driven, low winds. No structures immediately threatened, no injuries reported. Firefighters are securing hose lines at the heel of the fire near Airpark Way, as well as protection lines near homes.
