[VERIFIED] All rescuers and one (39M) patient have successfully exited the shaft and are safely on the ground. Patient reportedly experienced a long fall prior to being trapped for several hours -- he will be transported by LAFD paramedics in serious condition.
[VERIFIED] Incident Command respectfully requests news helicopters increase vertical distance from the scene, as noise is interfering with rescue efforts.
[VERIFIED] LAFD crews are coordinating a vertical confined space rescue operation to extract a male (unknown age, unknown circumstances) trapped in a shaft following an approximately 40-foot fall. Patient is alert and will be transported to a local hospital upon completion of the rescue operation.
