[VERIFIED] LAFD air and ground resources coordinated fire attack and have stopped all forward progress on this brush fire in the Sepulveda Basin. Firefighters will remain on scene for an extended period of time to manage hot spots and establish a full bare-soil perimeter around the burned area. Cooling apparatus have been requested for firefighter rehabilitation. Traffic will be impacted, and motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes. No injuries reported, nothing further.
[VERIFIED] Park rangers, LAFD air resources, and one Cal OES Type 3 strike team (part of LAFD's pre-deployment plan for the heat increase this week) have been requested at this incident. Fire is currently between the LA River and Haskell Creek, following the uphill topography in the area (ie. not wind-driven) and moving toward heavier brush near the south side of Burbank Blvd. No injuries reported at this time.
[VERIFIED] Sepulveda Basin, south of Burbank Blvd and west of the 405. DOT has been requested for traffic control and closure of eastbound Burbank Blvd from Woodley to the 405. Crews are currently making access to the area.
